Cusco Airport Transfer
Depends on your flight’s arrival timing
Our representative will be meeting you at the airport in Cusco and will be transferring you to your hotel.
We recommend you to reach Cusco before noon as the Cusco Tour begins at 0100 PM.
The half-day Cusco City tour begins with a visit to the emblematic Incas Sun Temple (Qorikancha).
To the Incas, Qorikancha was the most sacred site. As they worshiped the nature entities, this temple was dedicated to their supreme God – Inti (Sun). Legends say that the patio of the temple was once full of statues made entirely of Gold.
When the Spanish conquerors kidnapped the Incan emperor, Atahualpa, they demanded a ransom for his release. Most of the gold was melted and was paid as ransom for his release. The conquistadors, however, much to the colonial form, killed him on receiving the ransom.
We will then drive you to Sacsayhuaman. This is one of the unmissable sights in Cusco. This stunning stone fortress is built on a hilltop overlooking the main square of Cusco city. This is one of the places where you can see the advancement of Incan engineering. They did not use any mortars to join these stones that weigh over a ton each.
They accurately carved the edges of the stones to fit each other. In fact, is it so precise that you cannot even slide a paper between them. It is however still a mystery how the Incas transported these heavy stones here.
Nestled quite off the beaten track, Q’enqo was used by Incas as a site to do sacrifices. Also, it is in Qenqo they did the mummification of corpses.
Another renowned archeological site, Tambomachay served as a spa to the political elite of Incas. There are channels here from where natural spring water from the nearby hot springs flow even today
The name in Quechua means red fort. It was named by the Incas after the color of the rock that becomes reddish at sunset.
The incan military used this site to safeguard their capital city, Cusco.
We will be picking you up from your hotel in Cusco at 0700 AM. Then in our private transport, we will embark on a journey to Chinchero.
It is home to Andean textile. This beautiful and serene village is often overlooked by tourists. It houses a white-washed church which was once a royal palace of Incan emperor Pachacutec.
Among all sites in Sacred Valley, Chinchero has the most fertile soil. During the Inca civilization, under the leadership of Pachacutec, they built many farming terraces. The water channels here are a testament to the advancement of Inca engineering.
We will then drive you to Moray and Maras. Both these sites have played a prominent role and continue to do even today. Moray is home to circular agricultural terraces which served as an agricultural laboratory to Incas.
Maras is home to the salt mines. It has been passed down generation after generation. Locals here continue to practice the traditional Solar Evaporation salt farming method. Our local expert will be explaining to you in detail.
We will then stop for a buffet lunch in Urubamba.
After relishing a typical meal, we will be continuing the tour and will be visiting Ollantaytambo. This was the most prominent site during the Inca empire. Here you will be able to witness the advancement of Inca’s town planning. Ollantaytambo is one of the oldest and continuously inhabited villages of the Inca empire.
The village is sandwiched between two Incan ruins. This is also the place from where you will be boarding the train to Machu Picchu and Inca Trail.
Later in the evening, you will be boarding the train to Aguas Calientes. Our representative will meet you on arrival and will be accommodating you in an ensuite hotel room for the night.
Early in the morning, the hotel crew will be handing you over a snack box. You will then be boarding a bus from Aguas Calientes to the entrance of Machu Picchu citadel. It takes 25 minutes to reach. Here our tour guide will assist you in clearing the security and entering the citadel.
Once inside, you will be rewarded with a sight of the golden rays of sun shimmering on the walls of the Incan citadel. Our guide will be giving you a detailed tour of the Inca ruins in the complex for two hours. On this tour, you will be visiting some of the prime sites which will give you in-depth information about the citadel.
After the tour, you will have some free time to explore the citadel on your own. If you have booked to climb Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu mountain our guide will be directing you to the entrance. If you intend to hike one of these mountains do advise us at the time of booking.
Alternatively, you can hike to the sun gate. It offers a spectacular view of the citadel. Sungate is the point of entry to the citadel for those on the Inca Trail.
Once you have had your fill of the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, you will be taking the bus back to Aguas Calientes. Here you will be boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo.
Our representative will be meeting you and will be transferring you back to your hotel in the city of Cusco. If your hotel is outside the center of Cusco, we will be dropping you off at Plaza de Armas. You will be reaching Cusco at approximately 09:00 PM.
At 0430 AM, we will be picking you up from your hotel in Cusco. Then in our private transport, we will be driving you for two hours to a remote Andean village called Cusipata. Here, we will be serving you breakfast.
After breakfast, we will be driving for an hour to the starting point of the trek.
The tour guide will be giving you a safety briefing and will be giving you some tips on hiking the Andes. If you are not feeling good to hike, you can rent a horse from the community here at an additional cost.
Rainbow Mountain Trek full day begins with a gradual uphill hike for two hours. Along the way, you will be rewarded with sights of the Peruvian highland farms and villages. You will also get to see the snow-capped peak of the mighty Ausangate mountain at a distance.
You will have plenty of opportunities to spot the Andean camelids – Alpacas and Llamas throughout the hike.
Once you reach the summit, our guide will be explaining to you the prominence of the peak and Ausangate in the Andean mythology.
You will have plenty of time to soak in the mesmerizing views of this impressive Rainbow Mountain of Vinicunca.
Once you have had your fill of the beautiful landscape, we will begin to hike down to the starting point of the trek. We will then embark on a drive back to Cusipata village where we will be serving lunch.
After lunch, we will be driving you back to Cusco City. You will be reaching Cusco by 0530 PM.
Depending on your flight timing, we will be picking you up from your hotel and transferring you to the airport.
